BioGuard Stain and Scale Inhibitor is designed to help prevent unsightly metal staining and scale formation on pool surfaces and equipment. This product can also be used to help remove freshly deposited metals or scales.
Directions for Use:
- Before using this product, ensure that the sanitiser level is not higher than 3mg/l (ppm). High sanitiser levels will reduce the effectiveness of this product. Backwash the filter before application.
- Scale Prevention: Use an initial dose of 1 litre per 10,000 gallons or pool water. To continue to prevent scale build-up use 0.5 litres per 10,000 gallons of pool water once a month.
- Stain Prevention: If metals are present in the water, use an inital dose of 1 litre per 10,000 gallons of pool water. If the water contains more than 1mg/l (ppm) of metals, use 1 litre per 10,000 gallons of pool water for every 1mg/l (ppm) of metals present. DO NOT EXCEED 3 litres per 10,000 gallons of pool water.
- Stain/Scale Removal: Many fresh (less that 5 days old) metallic stains can be removed using this product. Add one litre per 10,000 gallons of pool water as close to the stains as possible. Brush the stains or scale daily for 5-7 days after treatment. Repeat treatment for large heavily stained areas.
