This pump is recommended for use with 15' Fast Set and Steel Frame Bestway pools. A 530gph pump will be fine with 8', 10' and 12' pools, but if you would like a stronger pump, this will be suitable. The higher the pump rate, the less time you will need to run the pump (and the lower your electricity bill)!
Please bear in mind that if you are considering buying a heater, you must have a pump that pumps at least 1000gph. However, our 1500gph pump is only suitable for 18ft pools.

Dead algae, debris, insects and body substances can all build up to cause discomfort or infection to the swimmer, so it is important to keep the water clean and hygienic using a filter pump in conjunction with chemicals. Filtration removes small particles and fine debris that are suspended in your pool water, helping to maintain the water clarity. A swimming pool maintenence kit (vacuum) may also be used to skim larger debris off your pool. The filter is also important to keep your water in regular circulation to ensure that chemicals are balanced throughout the water.
Most small pools are provided with a cartridge filter pump such as this Flowclear pump - this is the case with every pool on Active Toys (apart from the Play Pools). The cartridges in these usually need to be replaced at least once a year.
These pumps are designed for Bestway pools - they may not be compatible with different pool brands. One filter cartridge is supplied with every pump.
Handy Tips:
- Run your filtration/circulation system every day for enough time to turn the complete capacity of the pool over at least once and ideally 1.5 times. For most 'splasher' pools, this is typically around 4 hours per day.
- After prolonged or excessive pool use on 'balmy summer days' (we wish!), consider extending the filtration/circulation running time.
