The mat is made from PVC and the pieces are in one section, made from plastic. Therefore this Chess set is lightweight and can be easily transported and stored.

Did you know…? In the game of Chess the Rook can move quickly in straight lines but cannot leap over obstacles. This is because the Rook is named from the Arabic word Rukh, which means Chariot. During the Middle Ages when chariots were not used anymore the Rook was gradually changed to look more like the turret of a castle.
