This versatile filter cleaner is designed for the removal of oils and grease from sand, cartridge and D.E. filters. Greases and oils that accumulate within a filter will impair its performance, leading to poor water quality and increased chemical consumption. This cleaner restores filter efficiency by removing greases and oils.
Application Instructions - Sand Filters
- Thoroughly backwash and rinse filter then turn the filtration system off and set the selector valve to the normal filtration cycle.
- Remove pump lid and pour the required amount of Filter Cleaner into the pump strainer basket - see the table on the label for dose rates for filter diameters from 12'' to 36''.
- Note: Do not apply this product through the skimmer.
- Replace the lid and turn pump on for 2 to 3 seconds only.
- Leave pump turned off for 12 hours.
- Thoroughly backwash and rinse filter.
- Return to normal filtration cycle.
Application Instructions for Cartridge and D.E. Filters:
- It is recommended that waterproof gloves and eye protection are worn when handling cartridge elements and D.E. screens.
- Remove cartridge element or D.E. screen and place in a clean plastic container that is large enough to allow complete immersion.
- Add 1 litre of Filter Cleaner to every 20 litres of fresh water until the cartridge element or screen is completely immersed.
- Leave to stand overnight then gently brush to remove any grease or oil deposits.
- Clean and rinse thoroughly using a hose and fresh water before returning to filter. For best results, allow cartridge elements to dry before being returned to service.
